Joint Course: Environmental Chemicals and Human Health

Over the years, Environmental Health Science groups of the universities have arranged co-educational modules for students, together with Mahidol Universities in Thailand (Assoc. Prof Kraichat Tantrakarnapa). This year, we will have an in-person training course the 'Environmental Chemicals and Human Health 2023'. In this symposium, we plan to have various lectures from three universities, along with students' presentations. There is growing evidence demonstrating that environmental chemicals production has been rapidly increasing in recent decades. There are a wide variety of chemicals, including non-regulated materials have been released into the environment and consequently humans are exposed to these chemicals. These chemicals are globally distributed in the environment, wildlife, and human bodies. In this joint course, we focus on the hazard of human exposure to environmental chemicals, methods of exposure assessment, evaluation of the effects of these chemicals on human health, and approaches to health risk assessment, management, and prevention, including a brief introduction of the latest research in each university.
