Environmental Chemicals and Human Health

This Breakout Session at the HU-SNU Joint Symposium remarks its 10th anniversary this year, having held its first joint lecture at Hokkaido University in 2015. In this year, we celebrate our12th longstanding collaborations between HU-SNU in the Breakout Session though additional two sympoium prior to the joint lectures. Our joint lecture aims to provide students with the basic knowledge necessary for researching environmental health science and the health effects of chemicals and environment. In addition to teaching general knowledge of them, lectures also provide information on the latest scientific findings in our research fields. Mixed groups of students from SNU and HU, as well as Mahidol University are formed. Students actively involve preparatory learning, exchange opinions, and prepare materials for joint presentations on topics such as the actual state of environmental issues, health impacts, and solutions in Korea, Japan, Thailand, or the home regions of international students. Through these exercises, students from the three universities will have the opportunity to interact, promote mutual understanding, and work together to solve problems. This will also contribute to the establishment of future research networks among students from different fields and international backgrounds.
